Fares4Free proud to be supporting Fighting with Pride

Fares4Free Operations Manager, Leon Fisher, was delighted to attend the Fighting with Pride reception last night held in the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh along with Mr Graeme Dey MSP, Mr Keith Brown MSP, Ms Hannah Bardell MP and a selection of our collaborative partners including DMWS, Legion Scotland, Community Veterans Support and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Hearing first hand from Caroline, Craig and Dougie the impressive work that Fighting with Pride are achieving including personal accounts of their own stories really was inspiring and it was great to chat to some of the Fighting with Pride veterans themselves throughout the evening too.  If any organisation has not already signed up to the Pride in Veterans Standard (PiVS) and would like to, you will find all the information you need below including a direct link to the Fighting with Pride website.

What is the Pride in Veterans Standard (PiVS)?

Any veteran-focused organisation will want to ensure it is proactive in making the whole veteran community feel confident in accessing its services and support, knowing, that when they do, they can be assured they will be treated with dignity, respect and understanding.

Fighting With Pride is a trusted and respected LGBT+ military charity that has lived experience and knowledge to support organisations wanting to develop or improve their LGBT+ welcome and support services. LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and families will be more confident approaching support organisations where they see a marker that assures them of a welcome reception.

The Pride in Veterans Standard (PiVS)mis a programme developed by Fighting with Pride, open to any organisation that provides Veterans support or services who are committed to being inclusive and welcoming to LGBT+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families.
