All our volunteers are offered free access to various training courses including the Mental Health First Aid for the Armed Forces Community course.
Volunteering is tailored to each and every individual and your existing skills and knowledge can help us greatly.
We are passionate about bringing out the best in people and the rewards of volunteering can be seen in both the volunteer and the recipient.
Please contact us if you are interested in helping, in any capacity, and someone will get in touch soon.
Do you have your own car and some spare time to give back to veterans and their families within your community?
Do you have good listening skills and the ability to show empathy when needed?
Are you keen to help make a difference to someone who needs support in attending a vital mental health appointment that they are unable to attend themselves?
If so then we would love to hear from you.
“I served with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Scots from 1978 – 1986 completing two operational tours in Northern Ireland as well as being posted to Germany and the Falkland Islands.”
“Volunteering gives me a real purpose and at times a reason to get up in the morning. Helping others has really helped me on my own personal journey and being part of the F4F team really has been amazing.”
“My proudest achievement always sits with my military service. To serve my country really was a privilege and now being able to support veterans who need my help is up there too. Having battled with PTSD myself I am able to give back and help those who need me the most within our local communities and I get so much out of helping others. I do also like to take on other challenges for charity and I am very proud to have completed the West Highland Way twice, the Kilt Walk twice and I collect for PoppyScotland and Legion Scotland every year also.”
“Fares4Free is a great charity and I urge people with a little bit of spare time to get involved."
Our thriving network of local groups organise events to raise money for our charity.
From quiz nights and kilt walks, to bucket collections and xmas balls, they plan and promote all sorts of fun events in their local communities to raise money to support veterans and their families.
There’s also opportunity for group members to introduce us to local businesses and speak to other local clubs and associations about our work.
You can join one of our existing groups or form a new group of your own. Get in touch today to begin your fundraising journey with us.
