Fares4Free helping to fight isolation one mile at a time

Fares4Free outreach support drivers, John Symes and David Owens, have been supporting Patrick for a few months with taking him to visit his wife who now resides in a nearby care home.

At 91 years of age, Patrick has been extremely grateful for the support and help that Fares4Free have been providing him.  With Christmas fast approaching and to help with loneliness and isolation, John supported Patrick with a drive down memory lane, visiting some of Patrick's "old haunts" from back in his younger days, reminiscing as they went. 

Patrick then asked to visit his beloved wife, and to take the care staff at the home some Christmas chocolates, as a thank you for all their continued hard work and support.  John then treated Patrick to a nice lunch of Fish and Chips washed down with a nice cold drink and a cake for desert.  Patrick had a great day, and maintained "it was the best meal he had had in months".

We continue to support Patrick monthly, and look forward to his next outing with Fares4Free.
