Fares4Free welcome new Trustee

Fares4Free are delighted to welcome William (Billy) Ingram onto the board of trustees and it is clear that he brings with him a wealth of experience.  His impressive resume speaks for itself and Billy's operational military experience really is remarkable.  Please join us all in welcoming Billy formally and reading what Billy had to say...

"I have just joined the board of Fares4Free as a Trustee.  I am a proud RAF Veteran who is passionate about helping and supporting veterans at all stages of their life. I previously served 22 years in the RAF as an Aircraft Engineer working on Tornado, Typhoon, Puma and Chinook Aircraft. My career seen me serving in Germany, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden and Belgium. Having returned to Glasgow I am now proudly helping BAE Systems develop and build the next generation of Type-26 frigates. My family has a long history of service back to WWII, with my Grandfather, Father and Brother all serving across the 3 services. In addition to this I have many years of experience in volunteering for RAFA, various national and international sporting events as well as supporting young people via befriending. I am currently living in Glasgow with my wife and two children, in my spare time I am studying for a Post Graduate MSc and learning to play the guitar (badly)."  Billy

Billy deployed on multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan helping support the Chinook Aircraft in the medivac role amongst others.  Highly regarded amongst his peers and supervisors, Billy ran the Engineering desk in some of the most demanding and challenging conditions, resulting in many lives being saved.  His attention to detail and compliance skills will be a real asset to the board, coupled with his understanding of mental and physical war times injuries, having been an integral part of the Afghanistan Medivac Team.
