Dear Friends, Colleagues and Partners,
I am writing today to bid farewell to David Gibson, the Founder and current Communications and Fundraising Manager of Fares4Free.
David started Fares4Free in April 2016 and has worked valiantly supporting the Armed Forces Community since this time. He has been instrumental in the delivery of many projects improving the lives of veterans and their families throughout Scotland. Over the last six years he has accomplished 2 national lottery awards, the Age Scotland award and he recently received the armed forces covenant bronze and silver employer recognition awards. All these accolades were due to David and the Fares4Free team delivering a transport solution to veterans, family members and carers, and David’s passion and commitment will be sorely missed.
David has now chosen to take some time to rest and recharge his batteries knowing that the future of Fares4Free is in safe hands. He will then look at continuing his love of volunteering and working with smaller groups of individuals, getting back to the roots of what made him start Fares4Free in the first place.
We are immensely proud of David's accomplishments, and we are honored that David now feels comfortable to stand aside. The strategic vision of Fares4Free is to continue moving forward and with the help of Leon, my Operations Manager, and my team of outreach support drivers and admin staff I am excited with the prospect of what 2023 will hold.
On behalf of myself and the whole Fares4Free team we wish David all the best and wish everyone a safe and happy festive period.
Kind regards
Marie
